Happy 1st Birthday!

365 days, 16 hours and 10 minutes ago I met my baby girl for the first time! Although a bit of a scary delivary, it was an exciting day. She was so tiny and beautiful. She was a good baby too, I say this like she isn't still a baby. I think that she may be concitered at toddler now. Wow that's weird to think, my baby is a toddler. To me she will alwasy be my beautiful 5lb 10z, blue eyed, blonde haired (lots of it when she was born) baby girl. My first born. There is nothing like meeting your child for the first time. It's scary and exciting, not knowing what you are going to do next. How are you going to care for this little being? Can I break her? It all came naturally. I have to say that from the moment I laid eyes on her mommy mode kicked in. No things have not been smooth sailing and yes I have called my mother for advice when I didn't know what to do in certain situations.

Today wasn't really spent celebrating her birthday that will come on Saturday. We actually left my inlaws and made the two hour drive to my moms house. We did drive about 45 minutes from my inlaws to Sylvesters so my Father-in-law and my husband could try eating a 5lb burger. Neither succeeded although my father-in-law came pretty close! My husband only finished about half. We did sing happy birthday to Riley and she looked at me like I was crazy! I think she was thinking that this isn't a song I usually singe to her! In fact it's a song I've never sung to her. We told her a million times happy birthday. Unfortunately she is a bit under the weather and has been cranky all day. I'm hoping and praying she feels better by saturday! Pictures are to come of the 5lb burger and of my beautiful baby girl on her first birthday!!

No Me! Monday

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r208/jennisajoy/BLOG%20DESIGN/ONCEUPONABLOG/NotMeMonday.jpg"/>

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to http://www.mycharmingkids.net">her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not drink from my daughters sippy cup in the middle of the night when I had a dry throught and it was the only liquid in the room. Nope not me! I also did not jump on the several chances I have had to get out with out my daughter because the grandparents wanted to babysitt. That would just be silly!

I have not enjoyed being home in California so much that I have really contemplated not returning back to Georgia only to have my concionce tell me it wouldn't be a good idea to deprive my child of her father and vise versa. Nope not me!

Upone returning home it hasn't hit me AT ALL how much I REALLY don't want to be in Georgia anymore and would like for my husband to get out of the service NOW! I also haven't thought about how I should maybe break his leg for him so he can get discharged. Nope not me that would just be to mean!

I also have not started eating all the food that we don't have in Georgia and am secretely hoping I don't gain any weight but infact lose!! LOL! Now that would just be a silly notion.

Seeing as how my daughter and I have both been sick since stepping off the plain I haven't let her wipe her nose on me simply because she doesn't want a tissue by her nose. I also haven't gone through about 2 boxes and four travel packs of tissues wiping her nose and blowing my own. That would just be gross!!

I also haven't let my mother inlaw feed her things like Choclate pudding and flawn simply because I know she wants to spoil her only grandchild. Now that is just not healther for her nor is it on her strict meats, vegetables and fruits only diet! Nope I don't wonder from that at all!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, todays adventure.

O.K. so I must confess there are no trains in this story but ALOT of traveling. First off happy valentines day to everyone, I hope it was a wonderful one. My hunny and I spent about five minutes with each other today since I flew from GA to CA. Yes I flew on valnetines day, and just for the record my husband was supposed to be gone for 5 weeks at training so I came home to celebrate my daughters birthday.

Today was and adventure. Luckily my mom came out to visit and celebrate my nieces birthday so I hopped on her flight back to get a little help with my daughter. I've flown with her before but she was only 3 months old and not that active. I was a little nervouse that she might try out her new thing, screaming. Oh yes she screams in the car, the grociery store, the house, and pretty much where ever she can hear herself. Thank goodness she did not scream today.

Let me just start by sayin my morning started at 3am EST and it is now 8:52 PST. So basically in 3 hours I will be up for 24 hours. No I'm not that crazy, I'm headed off to bed as soon as I'm done writting this. So I wake up and get myself ready and pack the things I couldn't the night before., ie. my toothbrush. Riley ended up waking up around 4, I was not going to wake her up until about 4:15 to change her diaper and throw her in the car seat to go. We finish getting everything in the car including my daughter and head to the airport at 4:30 to catch our 6:35 flight. I just wish someone had told me before leaving the house that I could have slept for another hour! The check in counter doesn't even open unitl 5 and in our case 5:15, not to mention we got the new girl checking us in, so what normally takes about 5 minutes took 20. I can't get upset everyone has a first day, including myself. Then we head down grab some Burger King and head on out to our gate. Well our flight was delayed an hour due to some mechanical problem with the plane. Honestly I don't want to hear that the plain is having mechanical problems, lie and tell me that the crew is late, even though I just saw them heading onto the plane. Is anyone with me on that one?

O.k. so onto the rest of the day. The first flight wasn't so bad, it wasn't full so we got to spread out and those of you who have traveled with a baby understand the necesity of that! The only problem I had was when she pooped and it went out of her diaper up her back and down her leg and of course seeped through her pants and onto me. I didn't bring anything to change into, I've never had to change on the plane before. I get her all cleaned up 50 wipes later and changed back into her PJ's. I had an extra set of clothes but they were in my carry on which had to go under the plane seeing as it was a small plane. Almost three hours later we land in housten. She slept a total of 10 minutes, and yes she has been up since 4 this morning when she originally woke up.

We had a 2 hour lay over and I got her to sleep for about 20 minutes. The flight is completly packed and the stuck all of the Children, and there were about 15, in the middle together. Which is great because if my daughter screams I don't have to fell so bad knowing that at some point so is their's. She did o.k. in the begining, she fell asleep and slept for about 45 minutes then did alright up unitl the last hour and a half. She wanted to move and stretch so bad but of course I can't let her crawl up and down the isle of a bumpy plane, that is just to dangerouse not to mention anoying to the other passengers. So of course when she tries to squeeze between me and the seat down onto the floor and I wont let her she lets out this blood curdeling cry. You would have thought she hurt herself. She did this about 3 times. Oh yeah did I mention that she peed so much that it leaked out of her diaper and onto me twice! Yes now I have been pooped and peed on. All we need now is vomit and the lovely valentines day perfume is perfected. Eu de Momma.

Finally after what seems to be 20 hours (it was only 4) we get off the flight and make our 2 hour trek in the car towards my home town. Thankfully she slept most of the way. Our trip is not nearly complete. My mom does not have much food in her house since she came out to see us and her husband is out of town. I completely understand this since I did not do any grocery shopping before leaving. So we have to stop and get food. Thankfully she did OK until we came home and she had a minnie meltdown for dinner. I tried to keep her up until8 which for her is 11 to get her on a schedule so she is not waking up at 5 am! She crashed out right away and I am soon to follow. My husband meets up with us on Friday. So I have to make another 2 hour trip down to LA to pick him up and then 4 to the coast to visit his parents. Wish me luck and please pray that all goes smoothly with my daughter on our 6 hour car ride.

Wordless Wednsday

Today was my nieces 1st Birthday and my daughter will be celbrating hers in just 15 short days. Where does the time go? Wasn't she just a little 5lb newborn yesterday? We celebrated by taking pictures of both girls. Here are a few of Riley. I do not like to post pictures of my niece as I haven't asked my sister for premission and I'm not to sure how she would feel about it.

Wordless Wednsday

Sunday at the Circus. Suprisingly she sat through the whole thing. Shortly after I was up to my elbows in sick baby dirty diapers! She wasn't doing so good.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to http://www.blogger.com/%3Ca%20href= blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did not proceed to laugh histarically and search for my camera when my daughter got stuck with her feet sticking out of her toy basket and started whining. Nope not me. I also was not disapointed when I could not quickly find my camera.

I was also not up to my elbows in diapers this wee due to my daughter being sick with who knows what nor did I have to restrain myself when the lab tech refused to take her stool sample that took me forever to collect because I did not bring it in right away. Nope I just smiled and said "Thanks I would love to try and get more samples from her water!"

I did not try to get pictures of my daughter throwing a fit when the book she was looking at closed.

Last but not least I did not have to change myself and my daughter 3 times every day for the last three days because she had explosive diapers. I also was not at all grossed out by it.
