The inevitable has happened

Yes everyone I'm talking about the terrible 2's! Now we have been going through this for a few months now but Riley has decided to engross herself in it! I love to take her to soft play or to play dates but lately I dread going. Not because I don't want to go but because I know eventually it is going to lead into fist shaking, red faced screaming, stomping of the feet, shaking her head and telling me no. Now I'm not apposed to putting her in the corner on a time out in public, I've done it before. In fact she has been on time out in Walmart, the mall and several play dates, including the play date we had today. Of course we get funny looks from people because she is in the corner but I don't want her to think that behavior is allowed. Now I know that every parent goes through this, but I get so embarrassed that my child is acting so horrible in public! I actually had to change her from her bathing suit into her clothes and load her in the car after about 30 minutes of our play date today because she wanted to continue to yell at me or try to push her cousin in the pool! I could just scream sometimes. Man I can't wait for this stage to be over! I am working on her "telling me" or pointing to what she wants so we can avoid these fits, but it doesn't always work. I even tell her that what she is doing is not OK and that she cannot behave that way. I AM AT MY WHITS END! I don't know what to do! I just want to nip this behavior in the bud and I can't even get a grip on it! AHHHHHH!! Any tips are welcome!

But I digress! We had a pretty eventful weekend. Saturday we woke up and went to the mall to bounce on the blow up bounce houses! She spent about 5 minutes on them and she was done!

Then on Sunday we woke up and after breakfast went to the park and played on the jungle gym! Riley's favorite thing to do is slide! She would slide all day long if she could!

And of course we can't miss the swing! I'm not sure if it's the fact that she feels like she is flying or that she can dangle her legs, but she always gets excited when she is swinging!

After her nap we went to the little splash park on base. It was the last day it was opened so of course we had to take advantage of it one last time! She enjoyed playing with daddy in the water! Sorry about the sideways picture it wont let me rotate it.

We couldn't get her to take her hand out of her mouth for this picture! Guess she's getting more teeth!

And of course the weekend wouldn't be complete with out vegging out in front of Yo Gabba Gabba before bed! I don't know what it is about this show but she is obsessed! I think his may be our trick to keeping her occupied on our flight home in a few weeks!

Although she has been completely stressing me out with her terrible toddler's attitude lately she still does have her sweet moments! I just have to remember, it will one day be over!
